I
find masks so fascinating. Although I
find them captivating (and some are simply gorgeous) that does not mean that I
like all masks (there are some really creepy ones out there and I am not just
talking about the rubber kind you see at Halloween).
I
really love to look at Venetian Carnival masks like these
and even just lace covers
especially like the one Audrey Hepburn wore in “How to Steal a
Million” make me giddy.
I
would love to own one of TotusMel’s tatted masks (she even has full
instructions on Instructables.com if I ever find myself wanting to tat (and I
do somewhat want to learn)). (Check out
everything she tats… beautiful and so much work, she does a great job at what
she does.)
And
look at this fabulous wire one from Crowns and Tiaras
I
am highly disappointed that I can not find pictures or a link to the most
amazing masks I have ever seen. They are
these huge elaborate masks covered in feathers (one was a giant lion
head). It was several years ago at the
Kings Mountain Art Fair where friends of mine were vendors.
If
I find the link, or even a picture, I’ll update it here… until then I’m off to
look at more beautiful masks.
These are gorgeous--and I love the photos of Audrey in hers!

Always fascinating but spooky.
