Lots
of people have asked about sales and shopping at the Farm Fair. Although we had a great time (see yesterday’s
post) sales were not too great. I’m not
complaining at all especially since a lot of other vendors didn’t make a single
sale (I felt so bad for them because a few had traveled so far to be at this
event).
Who’s
to say if it was the heat, the holiday, the location, the economy or just the occasion
itself why people weren’t buying? For Mommy
and me it is just another experience, another chance and another opportunity to
show our wares, get practice in booth display and setting up and interact with
people.
I
was happy to figure out a new set-up that required smaller items, due to our limited
space, since we were only using the van.
I am always amazed at what I can fit into a mini van. (You should
see what I have packed into a Civic and a Saturn.)
I
was able to use bits and pieces that we had at other shows like the old wooden
crates from this year’s Farm Chicks show and an old window (made from old fence
wood with some chicken wire) from last year’s Farm Chicks show where it was
part of our backdrop (it was a door) and now repurposed as a display for the
cowgirl ornaments.
I
also reused our “Burford Designs” painted wood sign from last year’s show and hung
it on the front of our booth.
And
like I wrote here, the booth was different from the other shows we have done
and will ever be evolving. This is just
a taste of our booth, more to come soon…
Happy
Wednesday!
Your display looks great! Sorry sales were slow. It wasn't because your things weren't wonderful. I'm sure it was lots of fun anyway. Twyla
