One
theme of our products, no matter what is made, tends to be ruffles. Mommy has always loved ruffles. When I was little and Mommy made my dresses
they were always lacy and frilly with tons of ruffles and of course I had to
rumba pants too.
As
I was looking around at some of our projects that we are finishing up I noticed
that this theme was very prevalent.
I
made these clay roses that range in size from a quarter of an inch to about an
inch and a half… from buds to fully blown roses. Mommy and I have many projects in mind to use
these little beauties and I know that I’ll probably be making a lot more in the
future.
I
would like to venture out and make lots of different types of flowers so I’ve
been looking in the only book I have that has flower making in it… a cake
decorating book. It’s really an
invaluable resource. Of course, I made
all the roses without looking at how things are made but I love how they came
out. The book gave me a lot more insight
into larger flowers and different flowers like sweet peas, daisies, and
daffodils. I’m pretty sure I have a few
more cake decorating books in storage along with a small book specifically on
making gum paste flowers, although I’ve never made them either. It’s a talent that can lend itself to the
next cake I want to decorate though.
As
I was looking around to find more ruffles I found these ruffles on different
things Mommy and I have been sewing.
They
are everywhere I tell you.
Happy
Sunday!!
I love ruffles too! I love your flowers! Very pretty!!
