A quick side note first: Here’s to a very Happy 38th Anniversary to my Mommy and Daddy!
When I was in school I tried to use my projects as often as I could. I also took a great number of academic courses (in high school and college) so when I could take a shortcut I did. There were several projects I tweaked to fit with each different course. I thought that since I had already completed the research why add to my load; so when I had a paper on health care due in my government class I would then use that research to write a speech for my public speaking class. A report of Flannery O’Connor could be used for English and a religious studies class, again with a little tweaking and rewriting it worked.
I write this because that’s what today’s post is for me…working double and possibly triple duty because of the different holiday blog parties.
The first party I’m joining is at Whispering Poppies, plus there’s a giveaway.
I’ve also added myself to The Junk Drawer’s “show me your Holiday
So let’s get started.
There are some Santa blocks shown above and a picture of the top of the entertainment center
I don’t know if I’ve really written about this too much before (if at all) but Mommy used to own a Victorian/shabby chic floral and gift store when we lived in California (we sold it a couple of years ago). In the beginning I worked there part-time helping out when needed, especially during holidays and in the later years I ran the shop full time. Needless to say we were always decked out for the holidays…in the shop. We were so overloaded with decorating the shop and some of our customer’s homes we rarely decorated our house. Then we sold the shop and I moved up here to Idaho and Mommy and Daddy were in the process of selling their house in California so that Christmas, and the next, we just didn’t really decorate. I guess it was simply Christmas burnout. This year we are making up for it all having three decorated trees in the living room alone…each with a different theme, here's an overview of the living room.
Here's a close-up of the cute wooden moose and trees
and the tin train set
Don’t forget to leave a comment so I know who stopped by today…and let me know which site you came from. Can’t wait to see all of your decorated homes too!
Happy Friday!!!
I love all of your Christmas details. Three trees, you must really be in the Christmas mood. It must have been fun to grow up with your mom having a shop, I always wanted to do that. Your decorations are lovely. Karen

I want to say first not to miss a minute with your parents. It sounds like you guys have special times and hobbies like I had with my parents. Daddy died 10 years ago two days ago...I miss so much about him! We collected antiques and decorated together.
Love your collections and displays!!! Thank you :)

I'm visiting from Whispering Poppies today. Wow! You have such a wonderful Christmas inventory.
Oh, I used to do what you describe all the time, too. Back then, I had to have special permission to do so, but it was exciting to clock two birds with one stone. :D
Thank you for sharing your home today!
