“Clothes make a statement. Costumes tell a story.” ~Mason Cooley
What story do you want to tell this Halloween?
For every Halloween during my childhood I had costumes picked out well in advance. Mommy usually made our costumes so I wanted to make sure that she had plenty of time to make it. During college I didn’t plan as well and just would figure it out on the fly.
For those of you who still don’t have any plans yet for your Halloween costume I have found a few sites for inspiration.
Some of the costumes from this site are not 100% work or family friendly (as you might be able to tell from the website name that I have not included) but there are quite a few great ideas there. For those that don’t need an actual picture to go from for your costume then Costume Idea Zone might be for you. It lists different concepts and even gives tips on how to win a Halloween costume contest.

Of course the source of all things crafty, Martha Stewart, is a veritable wealth of ideas, especially for her favorite holiday… Halloween. There are no sew costumes, baby costumes, adult costumes, etc.
Here is another site that has some really cool homemade costumes, thus it is aptly named Coolest Homemade Costumes.
