I was very happy to see that the mailbox was decorated for Mother’s Day (although the side I took the picture of only reads Mother Day). It’ll be fun to see what other decorations they have for it.
This Mother’s Day Mommy is out of town with her sister seeing a show and that means that she’ll probably be gone all day. Her sister is very much a control freak and does this thing where she basically takes people hostage… I’m not kidding. I can’t tell you how many people no longer go places with her because she’ll only go where she wants to go and will drive all over and doesn’t care about what anyone else wishes. One time she asked us, Mommy, Daddy and me, if we wanted to go out for breakfast while we were at her house. We did and she drove us to this little diner in town. It was a nice meal and the three of us thought that we were headed home afterwards (we were unaware of her hostage taking tendency at that time). On the way back she asked if we minded if she stopped for gas, none of us did, and she drove to the gas station she liked going to which we found out wasn’t anywhere near her house (that should have been the first clue). As she left the gas station she turned in the opposite direction of town and I openly questioned where she was going. She stated that she just wanted to show up this house and it was just up the road and did we mind the slight detour. My parents said that if it was just up the road it should be okay. Well the road was a gravel road and the house was a forty minute drive to see (it wasn’t worth it at all) then instead of coming back the way we drove she continued north another hour then stopped in this little town just so she could use the restroom, then, even though my parents and I wanted to go home and said that although it was a nice little drive we want to go home. However, she proceeded to drive further away from where we wanted to be. We did finally make it back…about six hours later.
Enough about that, I just hope she makes it back sometime before the day is over so we can spend some of it together.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers and mothers to be out there!!
