Although it looks like a Saturday night in the dorm or a frat house, it isn’t. That stack of boxes has nothing to do with delivery pizza, they were a fabulous find Mommy and I had on a recent outing.
We found a sporting goods store that used to do the lettering and numbering on sports jerseys and had stopped doing that part of their business. From them we procured all of these boxes of various colors and sizes of letters and numbers (from 1 inch to 6 inches in size).
Now the question is: what to do with them? I thought that we could make up some kits and put them in there. All I could think was how cool they would be in a collage or on a scrapbook page, especially a sports page.
Inside the boxes (other than the letters and numbers) there were plastic liners (that held the letters and numbers). These liners are in various sizes correlating to the size of the letter or number, of course. Once we separated the letters and the numbers we sorted them by size and put all the colors of any particular size per box (all 1 inch letters were put together in one box, etc.). After the initial couple of sorts (it took a long time) there were many boxes and liners left over. Mommy has been using some of them to sort her jewelry and other craft items and some of the smaller ones we were going to use to start our seeds since it looks like we’ll be having the snow stick around for a little while.
It’s a lot of fun to find multiple uses for simple little things, even if at first glance they just look like pizza boxes.
