I am so in love with my new camera. I have been using Mommy's digital Kodak camera for the last several months. I enjoyed that camera and took some pretty good shots with it too. Dealing with the actual use of the camera wasn't always so easy so when she went to California to visit my brothers and nephews I knew that I needed to finally get a digital camera of my own. I didn't want to do a lot of research (even though I did research it) so I called up Baby Boy and put him on it. He loves tech stuff and we like to use each other as sounding boards. So I ended up purchasing a Canon PowerShot A590. I checked with other online retailers and store ads and the price was comparable and since I have Amazon Prime then I'd get in two days. Living out in the woods as I do that makes it worth it. The only issue I ended up having was a couple of days later the price was reduced but with a quick email to customer service I was refunded the difference (they have a 30 day Post-Order Price Guarantee) so all is well.
There are so many cool features (a lot that most people will never use) that are similar to my standard SLR but in a compact digital package. I've been snapping pictures like crazy and the close up pictures (weather in the macro setting or not) are awesome. I'm not going to go into the pros and cons right now..I'm still playing. I am really happy though and you all will get to share in the loveliness when I start posting all of the pictorial goodness.
